Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress the abnormal phenomena occurring at the time of starting, by using a soft-start system suppressing the phase-controlling voltage for the thyristor of an AC switch in the reactive power regulating device at a constant value after a predetermined time period has elapsed. CONSTITUTION:A reactive power signal is obtained in a reactive power detector 13 by utilizing a voltage signal from a transformer 10 and a current signal from a current transformer 9. This reactive power signal is then supplied to a converter 14, which produces a phase-controlling voltage Ec for phase-controlling the thyristor 6, 7. The phase-controlling voltage Ec is supplied to the minimum value priority circuit 16 along with a start-phase-controlling voltage Ec'. The start-phase-controlling voltage Ec' is a voltage which increases monotonically with time t, so that the minimum value priority circuit 16 produces Ec' until the predetermined time t1, and Ec after the time t1. Thus, soft starting is achieved until the time t1 by being controlled by Ec', so that abnormal phenomena occurring when the tyristors 6, 7 are turned on at the state of large current transfer angle at the starting time can be prevented.
