PURPOSE: To easily set a temperature at the time of using an iron and enable the set temperature of a base to be easily confirmed by arranging a display device for displaying a temperature set with a first operating section, and a second operating section for feeding water in a tank to the base and generating steam, and by arranging the first operating section in front of the second operating section, and in parallel with the display device.
CONSTITUTION: When a user irons and when the temperature of a base 1 is attempted to be changed, then a first operating section 4 and a display device 5 are arranged in front of a grip section 3, and so in a state that the grip section 3 is gripped, the first operating section 4 can be operated with one hand by confirming the display device 5. Besides, near the grip section 3, water in a tank 6 is led to the base 1, and a second operating section 7 for controlling the generation of steam is set and in front of it, the first operating section 4 and the display device 5 are arranged in parallel with each other. Accordingly, when the second operating section 7 for switching a steam iron and a dry iron is operated, then the first operating section 4 is not operated in error. As a result, the base 1 is set except an temperature for generating steam, and water can be prevented from leaking out of the base 1.
