To provide a packing segment 118 for an annular seal ring assembly 114 used within a hot gas flow channel of a turbo-machine.
The packing segment 118 includes a sealing surface 120 for supporting a plurality of sealing tooth-shape protrusions 122 arranged with a spacing in axial direction, a necked-in center portion 124 positioned in radially outward direction from the sealing surface 120, and a mounting section 127 positioned outward in radial direction from the midsection. At least one steam feed aperture 142 extends with inclination up to a position to bring it into line with the side of the center portion 124 from the outermost side in radial direction of the segment. During service, at least a part of the feed hole 142 is exposed to hot gas within hot gas flow channel, and the gas flows into a cavity 130 in the rear of the segment through the feed hole.
