Abstract:
To obtain a steering device for an automobile which is not in danger of being wrongly operated and has a full space around a driver.
In this type of steering device, a control device 15 is arranged for shifting a steering 1 or a lever 2 in an unused steering operation system among the two systems, from an operation position to an avoidance position. Under the specified condition such as emergency avoidance, the steering 1 or the lever 2 on the avoidance position is shifted to the operation position. As a result, a driver can perform operation with the steering 1 or the lever 2, which is easier to operate.
