A rack moving mechanism 8 constructing an actuator for moving a rack housing 5 in a vehicle longitudinal direction is provided in a lower part of the rack housing 5. The rack moving mechanism 8 is composed of a spiral gear 9 attached on both lower ends of the rack housing 5 and having a spiral internal thread part therein, two shafts 10 having spiral external thread parts meshing with the internal thread part of the spiral gear 9, a support bearing 11 rotatably supporting the shafts 10 toward the vehicle longitudinal direction, bevel gears 12 installed on an end part of the each shaft 10 in a vehicle front side, and a driving motor 14 rotationally driving two bevel gears 13 individually meshing with the bevel gears 12.
