Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering lock device with low cost of manufacturing and high burglar preventing performance.
SOLUTION: The steering lock device 1 is provided with at least a casing 2 in a hollow cylinder shape supported by a steering shaft, a key cylinder 3 housed inside the casing 2 and being mobile to a locked and an unlocked position, a locking rod 6 having an engaging part 62 being mobile to each of the locked position where a base part 61 is housed inside the casing 2, engaged with the steering shaft by protruding from the casing 2 and the unlocked position where the engagement is released, the base part 61 is recessed into the casing 2, a cap 9 for closing an opening 26 of the casing 2 opposed to the base part 61 of the locking rod 6, and an ignition switch 7 able to control start and stop of an engine with rotation of the key cylinder 3. The cap 9 is comprised of a ferromagnetic main body 91 and the edge part 92 in a vertical wall shape covering the edge of the opening 26 of the casing 2.
