Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small stereo camera in which an error of a distance measurement is stable.SOLUTION: A stereo camera includes: an image acquisition unit that acquires a plurality of images shot by a plurality of imaging units; a first area processing unit that divides each of the plurality of images acquired by the image acquisition units for each first area composed of a plurality of predetermined pixels, measures a distance for each of the first divided areas, and creates a first distance image; a target object extraction unit that extracts a target object from the distance image or image, and extracts a second area composed of a plurality of first areas including the extracted target object; an error factor specification unit that extracts a prescribed representative value from in the second area, compares a luminance value of an arbitrary pixel in the second area with a luminance value in a corresponding area from the arbitrary pixel to a position moved by a parallax indicated by the representative value, and makes a judgement of an error factor on the basis of a result of the comparison; and a second area processing unit that determines a weight value on the basis of the error factor, measures a distance for each second area, and creates a second distance image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
