To provide a structure and method for mounting gems in a base material with an adhesive agent without losing their brilliance, and an artificial nail embedded with the gems.
An artificial nail N1 has a board-like base material 1 to be provided with diamonds 2. The base material 1 is as thick as the pavilion 20 of the diamonds 2, and is provided with mounting holes 10 into which the diamonds are to be fitted. Each of the mounting holes 10 is formed in a way that the girdle 21 of each diamond 2 can be slightly hooked on its edge. First each hole is filled with an adhesive agent 3 which can remain transparent and colorless even after hardened, and then a diamond 2 is fitted from above before the adhesive agent 3 is hardened. Thus, the diamonds 2 are fixed to the base material 1 with the surface of each pavilion 20 being bonded with the adhesive agent 3.
