Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide substituted phenyl sulfonamides which is selective β3 adrenergic receptor agonists with very little β1 and β2 adrenergic receptor activity and having high activity in the treatment of Type II diabetes and obesity.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula [(n) is 0 to 7; (m) is 0, 1; (r) is 0 to 3; ring A is 5 to 6 heterocyclic ring with phenyl, naphytyl, 1 to 4 xenogenetic atoms (O, S, N), benzene ring fuse with 3-8C cycloalkyl ring or the like; R1 is OH, oxo, halogen, CN, NO2, NR8R8, SR8, alkyl, alkoxy or the like; R2 and R3 are each H, an alkyl; X is CH2, CH2-CH2, CH=CH or the like; R4 and R5 are each H, a halogen, alkyl, OR8 or the like; R6 is H, an alkyl; R7 is an alkyl, cycloalkyl or the like; R8 is H, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or the like], for example, N-[4-[2-[[2-hydroxy-3-(4-hydroxyphenoxy) propyl]amino]ethil]phenyl]-benzensulfonamide is provided.
