Abstract:
To carry out the substition of a polyol ester oil with deuterium while suppressing the degree of oil deterioration to a lower extent by preadding an antioxidant to the polyol ester oil.
An antioxidant (e.g. a phenolic antioxidant such as 2,6-di-tert- butyl-4-methylphenol and/or an amine-based antioxidant such as phenyl-α- naphthylamine represented by the formula) is preadded to a polyol ester oil to substitute the polyol ester oil with deuterium. The deuterium gas pressure of the substitution method with the deuterium is preferably that exceeding the atmospheric pressure. A lubricating oil scarcely deteriorating the oil and suppressing an increase in viscosity can be obtained according to the method.
