Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING PUMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6426358
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove a mechanical moving section, and to reduce trouble by moving a liquid by force working by causing currents to flow through the liquid vertically to a magnetic field generated by a superconducting magnet.

CONSTITUTION: A liquid 2 is introduced into a vessel 1, and currents J are caused to flow through the liquid 2 by one pair or more of electrodes 3 mounted onto the wall of the vessel 1. Since a superconducting magnet 4 is installed to the vessel 1, a magnetic field H generated by the magnet 4 is arranged at approximately a right angle with currents J in the liquid 2. Force is applied to the liquid 2 vertically to currents J in the liquid 2 and the magnetic field H generated by the superconducting magnet 4, thus moving the liquid 2.
