PURPOSE: To obtain a superconductive ceramic wire material excellent in flexibility, superconductivity and mechanical strength by coating the surface of a heat-resisting ceramic fiber with a solution consisting of an organic compound of oxide superconductive composition, followed by burning.
CONSTITUTION: A buffer layer selected from noble metals and alloys thereof is preliminarily formed in thickness less than 2μm on the surface of a heat resisting ceramic fiber formed of a lint having a diameter less then 40μm and having a heat-resisting temperature of 750°C or more. The buffer layer is coated with a solution consisting of an organic metal compound of oxide superconductive composition, followed by burning. Hence, a superconductive ceramic wire material excellent in flexibility, superconductivity and mechanical strength can be obtained.
