To prevent a recording medium wound in a roll from slacking in winding when the roll is rewound by one feed roller.
When the roll diameter lessens with consumption of the recording sheet of paper, roll paper 10 moves to downstream as shown by an arrow b. A feed roller 12 is installed downstream (on the side whereto the recording sheet is fed) of the roll paper peripheral position on the extension line in the moving direction (an arrow b) of the roll paper 10. Thereby an angle θ is provided between the line segment L1 tying the rotational center of the roll paper 10 to the rotational center of the feed roller 12 and the segment L2 of the line stretching in the roll paper 10 moving direction. When the feed roller 12 is rotated counterclockwise so as to rewind the recording sheet, part of the rotational driving force acts raising the abutting pressure of the roll paper 10 with the feed roller 12, which can prevent the roll paper 10 from slacking in winding.
