Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide sufficient surge protection by forming a surge absorbing circuit of a series combination of an SCR, a resistance and a capacitor.
CONSTITUTION: Electricity is supplied from a DC power supply 1 to a load 10. A surge absorbing circuit composed of a serial assembly of SCR2, resistor 4 and capacitor 5 is provided in parallel with said load 10. Further, a discharging resistance 6 is juxtaposed with said capacitor 5. Also, a trigger circuit composed of DIAC 3, resistors 7, 9 and capacitor 8 is connected with a gate of said SCR 2. In this manner, the surge absorbing circuit operates only when surge is applied thereto, and is turned OFF without fail after a given period of time.
