Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the system for video signal transmission and reception which attenuates channel noise by applying adaptive modulation to high-band video signal components and low-band video signal components.
CONSTITUTION: An encoder 100 divides a low-band video signal L and a high- band signal H inputted to input terminals 101 and 102 into constant adaptive sections and while adaption constants f1 and f2 outputted from 1st and 2nd adaptive conversion parts 110 and 150 are outputted, the signals L and H are delayed by 1st and 2nd delay parts 120 and 160. Then 1st and 2nd multipliers 130 and 170 multiply the delayed signals L and H and adaption constants f1 and f2 by each other and amplify them, and after nonlinear conversion by 1st and 2nd nonlinear conversion parts 140 and 180, the signals are sent to a decoder 200. Thus, the adaptive modulation is applied to the signals L and H respectively to attenuate channel noise, and consequently the picture quality is prevented from deteriorating.
