Title:
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CHANGING INTERFACE BETWEEN ICE AND SUBJECT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009255925
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a system and a method for thermally changing the interface between ice and an object.

A system includes a power source configured to be capable of generating a certain amount of power. The amount of power is great enough to melt an interface layer of ice at an interface, where the thickness of the interface layer ranges from 1 m to 1 mm. A controller may be used to limit the time of duration of the power source's generating power to restrain unnecessary thermal energy from dispersing into the environment. Pulsated thermal energy is modulated and is sent to the interface to change a friction coefficient between the object and ice.
