Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an equilibrium moisture content at a level measured when a veneer is rolled after drying by making the diameter of the rolled veneer specified or more times as much as the thickness of the veneer and longer than specified so that the curvature of the rolled veneer obtained by reducing the fracture generated from the part in parallel with fibers, when the veneer is taken up around a reel after drying.
SOLUTION: A continuous veneer 1 is conveyed on a connected conveyor 4 after drying by a circulating hot blast with the use of a veneer dryer 2, reaching a veneer take-up position 5. When the veneer 1 arrives at a position between a drive roll 6 and a take-up roll 7 and the take-up reel 7 is driven by a frictional force generated by the driving of a drive roll 6 to be rotated reversely to take up the veneer 1 in a continuous state. In addition, a plurality of thread member transfer mechanisms 10 are installed at an optional interval on the take-up reel 7 in its longer direction. Thus it is possible to take up the veneer 1 smoothly by making the diameter of the take-up reel 85 or more times as much as the thickness of the veneer 1 and 300 mm or more.
