Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the starting performance of a vehicle in an empty condition or in a light load application state regarding a tandem axle suspension device suitably used for a large vehicle such as a bus and a truck.
SOLUTION: This suspension device is provided between a car body frame 4 and a pair of tandem axles composed of a drive shaft 1 and an non-drive shaft 2. In this case, the device is provided with a rigid member 8 suspended at the lower side of the car body frame 4 and an elastic member 7 attached to the rigid member 8 and connected to the drive shaft 1 and the non-drive shaft 2. The rigid member 8 is disposed by being inclined with respect to the car body frame 4 such that the drive shaft 1 is positioned lower than the non- driven shaft 2 while the elastic member 7 is in a free state.
