Abstract:

PURPOSE: To insure excellent stability in going straight and in steering regardless of lateral force by arranging each a pair of front and rear lower torque rods between a front and rear rear-axle and a frame in such a manner that each pair of torque rods become narrower forward and providing a link arm, which is supported by each rear axle in the horizontal direction and in a swingable manner.

CONSTITUTION: In a large truck, in which a front rear-axle 50 serves as a driving wheel axle, while a rear rear-axle 52 serves as an idler wheel axle, right and left leaf springs, which support at their fore and after ends the front rear-axle 50 and the rear rear-axle, are pivotally mounted on right and left ends of a trunnion shaft on the frame. The front and rear rear-axles 50, 52 are connected to right and left trunnion brackets by means of a pair of front and rear lower torque rods 11, 12. The rear axles 50, 52 are also connected to a cross beam of the frame by means of each upper torque rod 13, 14. The lower torque rods 11, 12 are placed in such a manner that they narrow forward, respectively, and their respective ends on the rear axle sides are supported in a freely rotatable manner via link arms 21, 30, which are freely swingable in the horizontal direction.
