To provide a tape cassette simple in structure and capable of preparing a laminated type printing tape while preventing adhesion of an adhesive to protect a printing surface, and to provide a printing device.

The tape cassette 101 comprises an ink ribbon 19 formed with an ink layer, and a film tape 17 provided with a transparent film formed with an adhesive layer on one face. The adhesive layer and the ink layer side come in contact with each other in a printing position of the tape cassette 101, and the adhesive layer is heated by a thermal head 7 to exhibit adhesive property. The ink layer and the adhesive layer are thereby bonded to print characters or the like on the film tape 17. In a tape printing device 110 mounted with the tape cassette 101, a cutter unit 14 is arranged directly downstream of the thermal head 7. The printed film tape 17 is thereby cut after printed. An auxiliary paper medium 74 comes in contact with the adhesive layer 24, but a feed roller 77 does not come in contact with the adhesive layer.
