PURPOSE: To prevent a irregular windings and enable high-speed winding by a method wherein tape winding is carried out while decompressing the air around a tape winding portion of a take-up reel.
CONSTITUTION: A winder 9 as a whole is incased in a sealed container 10, and air pressure inside the container 10 is reduced below the atmospheric pressure. The generation of pressure of a dynamic-pressure air bearing arises from the viscosity of air; however, in the case of a compressible fluid such as air, the generated pressure decreases as ambient air pressure decreases. Because a dynamic-pressure air bearing action due to induction of air at a tape winding portion is the cause of a irreqular winding phenomenon, a decrease in the generated pressure restrains the irregular winding phenomenon. With the irregular winding phenomenon thus prevented, high-speed winding can be conducted.
