PURPOSE: To eliminate the unnecessary target from the side lobe direction by discriminating unnecessary targets based on the target information of every searching that a searching radar possesses and the data of the antenna pattern used for this radar.
CONSTITUTION: Radio waves reflected by a target 3 are received in a receiver 4 through an antenna 2, after which they are processed in a signal processing part 5 and are stored in a memory part 6. In this memory part 6, the target of the main lobe for the same distance and the target informatin of side lobes are stored and these sets of information are supplied to an arithmetic part 7, where they are processed by using the antenna pattern having been measured beforehand. More specifically, in the arithmetic part 7, the beam widths of the target of the main lobe 8 and the target 11 of the side lobes 9 are compared with the beam width of the antenna pattern having beforehand been measured and the broadest one is selected among the targets of the same distance and whether the width thereof is lowe than the beam width β or not is decided. When the width is higher than β, the target by the side lobes 9 also exists and therefore the target of the right and left α° in the angle direction which has been ragarded to be the target of the main lobe 8 is removed.
