Abstract:
To discriminate a part of image data which is configured of ten thousand lines.
A block consisting of 5×5 pixels around a target pixel in image data obtained by reading an original is considered. A columnar unit pixel value summing section 62 obtains sums P1-P5 by summing 5 pixels of each column of the block consisting of 5×5 pixels. A subtraction/comparator circuit 63 subtracts the sums P1-P5 with each other and compares the result with a reference value th1 to discriminate a rugged pattern of image density denoted by the sums P1-P5 and AND discrimination sections 65a, 65b AND the result so as to discriminate whether or not the pattern corresponds to a particular ten thousand lines pattern.
