Title:
TERMINAL PRESS-FITTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1197148
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To restrain deformation of external connection terminal side so as to reduce the manhours for mounting to a circuit board by providing a shoulder protrusion at a position corresponding to a center line in the width direction of insulator fixing part of a terminal pressing surface abutting on the shoulder.

A top 21a of a projection 21b of a terminal press-fitting tool 21 corresponding to a jack terminal 111 is positioned, in its contact point with a shoulder 111e of the jack terminal 111, on a center line D in the width direction of insulator fixing part. When the tool is pressed down, the top 21a the pressed down to the shoulder 111e makes the jack terminal 111 press-fitted as shown by an arrow E. However, since the press point is on the center line D in the width direction of the insulator fixing part, no curve or deformation generates in an external connection terminal 111d of the jack terminal 111. Under the above condition, through the press-down is continued to a specified position of the tool 21, no deformation or curve generates therein. Accordingly, a required jack connector 11 is provided.
