PURPOSE: To prepare a therapeutic agent useful for treating children's hyperkinetic disorders and containing 2-(4-methylaminobutoxy)diphenylmethane as an effective ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: This therapeutic agent for hyperkinetic disorders contains a compound expressed by the formula, a hydrated derivative thereof or a salt thereof as an effective ingredient. The agent is formulated for a nonoral administation such as an injection, a drop, a suppository, an inhalant, a plaster, etc., by adding other usual additives if needed. The amount of an oral administration is 5-300mg/adult/day, preferably 150mg, from which the amount of the oral administration for children can be calculated. The administration can be made one to several times a day. An administration period can be suitably determined depending on the age of the child and the state of an improved symptom. The therapeutic agent expresses high effectiveness in the therapy of hyperkinetic disorders and the reduction of pathologic states and is highly safe with little adverse effects. The therapeutic object of the hyperkinetic disorder is an attention disorder, an activity disorder and an impulsive abnormality, when one of those disorders is obviously observed on taking the age and the growth stage of a child into account in a family.
