Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal diffusion device that can enhance the heat transfer coefficient between EHD fluid and an insulation board or an electrode which is in contact with a heating body.SOLUTION: In a thermal diffusion device for cooling a heating body by using EHD fluid F flowing due to an electric fluid dynamics phenomenon as a cooing medium, at least a pair of electrode pairs 15 comprise a needle-like electrode 16 and a slit electrode 17, and when voltages having different polarities are applied to the electrodes 16 and 17, flow of the EHD fluid F directing from the tip of the needle-like electrode 16 to the gap of the slit electrode 17 is generated. A DC power source 18 and a polarity reversing device 19 as an alternating voltage supply device can apply, to the electrodes 16 and 17, a voltage alternately reversing in polarity with time lapse. Charged dielectric fine particles D added to the EHD fluid F repeat adhesion to the needle-like electrode 16 and the slit electrode 17 and discharge to the EHD fluid, thereby making the peripheral EHD fluid turbulent, whereby the heat transfer coefficient between an insulation board 13 or the electrodes 16 and 17 and the EHD fluid F can be enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
