Title:
THERMAL TRANSFER MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6216188
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable thermal transfer recording through applying high thermal energy, enable favorable printing quality to be performed even on a recording medium poor in smoothness and prevent a transfer material from being deformed or damaged due to heat, by a construction wherein a base consists of an aromatic polyamide film, and the melting point of a heat-fusible ink layer is in a specified temperature range.

CONSTITUTION: The thermal transfer material comprises a heat-fusible ink layer on a base, wherein the base consists of an aromatic polyamide film, and the melting point of the ink layer is 70W110°C. The thickness of the polyamide film is preferably 0.5W20μm, The ink layer comprises a heat-fusible binder and a coloring material as main constituents. The heat-fusible binder is appropri ately selected, and is used so as to obtain a melting point of 70W110°C. Accord ingly, thermal transfer recording can be conducted by applying high thermal energy, favorable printing quality can be obtained even on a recording medium poor in surface smoothness, and the transfer material is prevented from being deformed or damaged due to heat.
