Abstract:

To provide a pipe, at the end of which a stably shaped socket is formed though the pipe is made of an oriented synthetic resin hollow pipe.

By axially or peripherally stretching and cooling or heat-treating after stretching the precursor of a pipe 7 made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, the thermoplastic resin pipe 7, the axial shrinkage factor of which is 5% or less, is obtained. Under the condition that the end part of the pipe is heated up to a temperature, which is from lower by 5°C than the melting point of the resin consisting of the pipe and to lower by 30°C than its melting point, the end part is diametrically expanded. Next, the expanded end part is cooled down so as to obtain a socket.
