Abstract:
To provide a thixotropy giving agent capable of giving sufficient thixotropy (thixotropic property), and a viscosity adjustment method for a paste sol capable of easily obtaining sufficient thixotropy in a paste sol containing the thixotropy giving agent.
The thixotropy giving agent having a surface of a base powder modified by a long chain hydrocarbon chain exhibits thickening effect by a finger assembling-like structure. The finger assembling-like structure is a structure exhibited when the formula: D=4.67A-B is satisfied when an occupying area of the long chain hydrocarbon chain is made to be A (2), a distance between solid surfaces of the thixotropy giving agent is made to be D (nm) and coefficient is made to be B (nm).
