Abstract:
To provide a three-dimensional display device with which there is a high degree of freedom in setting a preferred viewing distance.SOLUTION: A three-dimensional display device 1 includes a display panel 5 and a parallax barrier 6. The display panel 5 has an active area 51 that includes a plurality of subpixels 11 arranged in lattice form in a direction x and a direction y. The parallax barrier 6 has a plurality of transparent zonal light transmissive regions 62 and a plurality of light shielding regions 61. The direction x corresponds to a direction in which parallax is given to the eyes of a user. The display panel 5 displays a left-eye image and a right-eye image on first subpixels 11L and second subpixels 11R, respectively. Each of the plurality of light transmissive regions 62 allows the left-eye image to pass through in a direction of optical path that heads to the left eye of the user and the right-eye image to pass through in a direction of optical path that heads to the right eye of the user. The minimum repetition unit of arrangement pattern of the first subpixels 11L and second subpixels 11R extends over a plurality of arrays lying in a row in the direction x and a plurality of arrays lying in a row in the direction y above the active area 51.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
