Abstract:

To provide a long-life thrust bearing for a hydraulic continuously variable transmission, in which breakage of an inner ring is prevented.

The thrust bearing is built into the hydraulic continuously variable transmission, and includes: the inner ring in contact with a piston of a piston chamber of a variable-capacity pump; an outer ring secured to an inclined plate; and a plurality of rolling elements held between the inner ring and the outer ring via a retainer. The thrust bearing for the hydraulic continuously variable transmission is characterized in that the groove base thickness (Ti) of the inner ring is at least 40% of the diameter of the rolling elements, and the groove base thickness (Te) of the outer ring is at least 15% of the diameter of the rolling elements.
