Title:
THUNDER OBSERVATION SYSTEM FOR DISTRIBUTION LINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10197652
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain an inexpensive, highly accurate, and highly efficient thunder observation system for designing the insulation of the facility of a high-voltage power distribution system and taking a lightning protection measure by installing an sensor I/F circuit which integrates the output of a sensor and A/D-converts the output into the inputting condition of a measuring and processing section and a monitoring terminal which integrates a GPS clock section and a MODEM which transmits data to a center device through a portable telephone line to each pole.

A transformer 3 and a monitoring terminal board 4 are installed to a pole 2 which supports distribution lines 1 and a current sensor 6 composed of a Rogowski coil is attached to a grounding conductor 5. Since the board 4 is connected to a center device 7 through a portable telephone line 10 and the center device 7 is connected to a telephone line 9 through a MODEM 8, the waveform data of a lightning striking current generated in the distribution lines 1 are collected to the center device 7 in a lump. Therefore, the cost of this thunder monitoring system does not reach that of a thunder monitoring system for a trunk waveform monitoring system and the sampling speed of a current waveform monitoring section can be increased.
