Title:
TIRE PRESSURE DETECTION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2978140
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a visible or audible indication to a driver by placing a sensor for detecting air pressure inside a tire, connecting it to a receiver electromagnetically, and generating a signal from the sensor for indicating the tire air pressure that is detected by the sensor.
SOLUTION: A tire pressure monitoring system(TPMS) consists of four corresponding sensor transducers 14a-d that are placed inside tires 16a-d and four receivers 20a-d that are placed at a drive train via a bracket at a distance of several cm apart from the inner edge of the corresponding tire. The TPMS 10 monitors continuously each air pressure of the tires 16a-d while a vehicle is moving via the generation of an electromagnetic coupling between alignments being generated between the transducer and the coupler during each rotation of a tire between the corresponding pair of transducers 14a-d and the receivers 20a-d. The coupling can continuously and accurately report a tire pressure to a driver.
