PURPOSE: To produce the silver halide photographic sensitive material immune to curling tendency and discoloration with time by forming a layer containing an ultraviolet absorbent and a support made of a polyethylene naphthalate and its derivative.

CONSTITUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material has at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer on one side of a support and at least one kind of ultraviolet absorbent is contained on one side or both sides in the total content of 0.01-3g/m2, and the support is made of a polyethylene naphthalate or is derivative. This ultraviolet absorbent has an absorption peak in the ultraviolet region of 200-400nm, and, preferably, has a sufficient absorption in the longer wave length region of 300-400nm. This polyethylene naphthalate is formed by using naphthalenedicarboxylic acid as main acid components and a compound having 2 alcoholic hydoxyl groups as main glycol components in the support.
