A transfer for 4WD vehicle is provided with a lubricating device 66. In the lubricating device 66, the transfer is arranged in substantially horizontal state, whereby oil level L is set so that a transfer chain 48 and the switching sleeve 54 of a 2W-4W switching mechanism 50 are dipped in the lubricating oil stored in a transfer case 8. In the transfer 4, the oil level L is set so that the rotating switching sleeve 54 scoops the lubricating oil stored in the transfer case 8 in the switching of the 2W-4W switching mechanism 50 to 2W driving state.
