Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a system in which the connection of a MODEM can be attained so that the MODEM having the various kinds of rates can mutually adapt those rates. CONSTITUTION: In this system, an in-station MODEM 1 and a remote MODEM 80 respectively capable of rates ranging from 4800 bits/s to 19200 bits/s and rates ranging from 4800, 9600 bits/s to 14400 bits/s can operate communication by adapting those rates to the quality of a transmitting medium 85 at those common rates ranging from 4800, 9600 bits/s to 14400 bits/s.
