Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a tuner to simultaneously receive broadcast radio waves at different frequency bands.
SOLUTION: Data P are blocked at a prescribed time interval and compressed on time base at the prescribed time interval at a circuit 10a. The compressed data are coded by a circuit 11a and data compression is repeated within the unit. An output of the circuit 11a is modulated at a frequency fc1 at a circuit 12a and the modulated signal is fed to a MUX 13. Data Q, R are similarly modulated at frequencies fc2, fc3 respectively and the modulated data are fed to the MUX 13. The signals from a plurality of channels are transmitted simultaneously from the MUX 13. A receiver side detects blocks from the received signals, carrier frequencies are switched based on the block information and respective signals are demodulated in the unit of compressed data. Demodulated signals are decoded into compression data for each channel. The compression data are distributed for each channel based on the block information, expanded on time base and the resulting data are outputted.
