Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a vinyl chloride resin sheet containing short glass fibers, being excellent in scratch resistance, wear resistance and antislip properties, being substantially transparent and desirably used as especially a flooring material.
CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. polyvinyl chloride resin is mixed with 5-35 pts.wt. plasticizer and 0.5-30 pts.wt. short glass fibers having a diameter of 6-12μm and a length of 2-12mm, and the mixture is kneaded to prepare a composition. This composition is calendered to form a resin sheet. When the surface of the sheet is embossed with an embossing machine composed of an emboss roll and a pressure roll to give a matted satin appearance to the surface of the sheet, the ratio of the peripheral speed of the last calender roll to that of the emboss roll is 1.3-2.3.
