PURPOSE: To obtain a sufficiently satisfactory removal ratio of all of organocarbon without generating a malodor by subjecting org. waste water containing alkyl sulfoxide to Fenton oxidizing treatment while suppressing the generation of alkyl sulfide being a malodor source
CONSTITUTION: In the treatment of org. waste water, org. waste water containing alkyl sulfoxide is subjected to Fenton oxidizing treatment while the generation of alkyl sulfude being a malodor source is suppressed. By this Fenton oxidizing treatment, alkyl sulfide such as methyl sulfide is not generated and org. matter can be effectively treated. In a concrete method for the Fenton oxidation of waste water, waste water may be batchwise treated using one reaction tank or reaction tanks are provided in a multistage fashion in series and waste water may be allowed to continuously flow through those reaction tanks and an iron salt and H2O2 may be injected in the reaction tanks in a divided state.
