PURPOSE: To make a truss structure lightweight by forming the equator of an octahedron of first wire material, connecting the north pole and the south pole by second wire material, and connecting the unlike poles of adjacent octahedrons by third and fourth wire material.

CONSTITUTION: The first wire material 3a of an octahedron 6 works as tension against the force of bringing the north pole N and the south pole S close to each other, while second wire material 3b for connecting the poles to each other works against the force of separating the north pole N and the south pole S, and each octahedron 6 becomes independent existence itself. In the adjacent octahedrons 6, one north pole N and the other south pole S are connected by third wire material 3c, and a tetrahedron 5 is formed between the octahedrons 6. Since tension is imparted to the third wire material 3c by fourth wire material 3d for connecting one south pole S and the other north pole N to each other, a truss structure constituted as a unit of the adjacent octahedrons 6 and the tetrahedron 5 placed between them comes to exist a self- sustaining structure.
