Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uninterruptible power supply, capable of controlling the charge and discharge of a storage battery among a plurality of storage batteries having different voltage characteristics, at desired charge/discharge timing, to improve the use efficiency of the storage battery.SOLUTION: The UPS includes a UPS body 8, a plurality of storage batteries 6 and a chopper board 9. The UPS body 8 includes: a converter 3 which converts AC power supplied from a commercial power supply 2 into DC power; an inverter 4 which inversely converts the DC power output from the converter 3 into AC power; and a switch 7 which switches over between the AC power from the commercial power supply 2 and the AC power from the inverter 4 without instantaneous interruption. The storage batteries 6 charge the DC power converted in the converter 3 and discharge the DC power to the inverter 4. The chopper board 9 incorporates choppers 5 which control the DC voltages of the storage batteries 6 corresponding to the respective storage batteries 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
