Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of attaining improvement in both of energy saving property and convenience.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner includes: an electric blower 5; a dust collection device 6 for collecting dust; a floor suction tool 2 attached to the lower part of a cleaner body 1 (hereinafter referred to as "body 1") and sucking dust on a cleaned surface; an extension pipe 4 whose one end is attached to one end of a hose 3 where the other end is attached to the cleaner body 1 and that has a suction port (not shown in Fig.); an extension pipe storage part 1f arranged in the body 1 and removably storing the extension pipe 4; a first detection part A for detecting presence/absence of mounting between the body 1 and the extension pipe 4; a second detection part B for detecting the operation state of the body 1; and control means (not shown in Fig.) for controlling the electric blower 5 on the basis of the detection results of the first detection part A and the second detection part B. When the extension pipe 4 is mounted on the body 1 and also the body 1 is in a storage state, the electric blower 5 is stopped. When the extension pipe 4 is detached from the body 1 or the body 1 is in a use state, the electric blower 5 is driven.
