To provide a vane rotary type compressor with low noise and high salability.
The vane rotary type compressor includes a cylinder 3 having a cylindrical hollow part thereinside, a substantially cylindrical rotor 4 that is rotatably disposed in which at least one portion on an outer peripheral part is adjacent to an inner wall face of the cylinder 3, and a vane 5 slidably inserted into a vane groove 4b of the rotor with a distal end abutting on the inner wall face of the cylinder 3 and partitioning a compression space formed between the cylinder 3 and the rotor 4 into at least a suction space 19 and a discharge space 20. By providing a round hole 6a in a non-sliding part 5d of the vane 5 with the rotor 4, the vane 5 is made light in weight and the centrifugal force is reduced, pressing force of the vane 5 against the cylinder 3 inner wall is alleviated, and wear of the vane, lowering of a discharge temperature, and reduction in consumption horsepower during operation of the compressor can be prevented.
