Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device, and a vehicle control method and program by which a vehicle can travel more smoothly.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device includes an acquisition part which acquires a recognition result recognized by a recognition part for recognizing a periphery of a vehicle, and a behavior control part which controls behavior of the vehicle on the basis of the recognition result acquired by the acquisition part. When the other vehicle, which travels on a second road adjacent to the first road the vehicle travels, exists and the vehicle is controlled to overtake the other vehicle, the behavior control part accelerates the vehicle, makes the vehicle indicate an intention of entering the second road when the vehicle is positioned ahead the other vehicle by a predetermined distance or more with respect to a travel direction of the vehicle, and decelerates the vehicle at a timing on the basis of the intention of entering while maintaining a state that the vehicle is positioned ahead the other vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
