To provide a vehicle trouble handling support system and its supporting method allowing an external mechanism to precisely and objectively specify causes and contents of a trouble in the occurrence of a vehicle trouble such as an accident and smoothly and quickly handling the vehicle trouble.

This vehicle trouble handling support system 100 is provided with a control computer 101 mounted on the vehicle VE, a storage medium 104 connected the control computer 101 so as to be capable of in-vehicle communication with the computer 101, and various types of sensors 102 and 103 connected to the control computer 101. The various types of sensors 102 and 103 are a vehicle traveling detecting sensor, obstacle detecting sensors a, c, d, and e, or a road surface sensor b. This system is so constituted that in the occurrence of the vehicle trouble such as the accident, at least, a period from just before the occurrence of the trouble to before/after the occurrence is recorded and stored in the storage medium 104 using the various sensors 102 and 103, and vehicle trouble information stored in the storage medium 104 can be transmitted to the external mechanism 85 by a transmitting/receiving device 106.
