Abstract:
To provide a technique capable of monitoring leakage of laser light when an abnormality occurs in a wavelength conversion member while effectively using a luminous flux, in a vehicular lamp using a light source including a semiconductor laser and the wavelength conversion member combined therein.MEANS: A vehicular lamp 10 includes: a semiconductor laser element 38 emitting laser light; a wavelength conversion member 40 which subjects wavelength conversion on at least part of the laser light to produce white light or pseudo-white light; a lens 28 which takes in the white light and emits forward the white light as illumination light; and a light transmitting photodetector 30 for detecting the laser light. The photodetector 30 is arranged on an optical path of the laser light in the case where it is assumed that the wavelength conversion member 40 does not exist, and is arranged between the wavelength conversion member 40 and the emission surface of the illumination light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
