To achieve silencing and high speed of a divider for classifying veneers in the middle of conveyance.
This veneer cutting device includes the divider 8 comprising a carrier roller 4 carrying veneers, and a sorting means disposed in proximity to the carrier roller. The sorting means includes a thrust rotating means 7 with a large number of spikes provided at the outer periphery, and guide bars having guide parts projected/retreated from the tips of the spikes in the side view. The carrier roller and the thrust rotating means are arranged in proximity in such a state that the spikes provided at the outer periphery of the thrust rotating means intrude into the veneer on the carrier roller, and the veneer conveyed on the carrier roller are thrusted by the spikes provided at the thrust rotating means, and released from the thrust when contacting the guide bars in the projecting state in the middle of moving following the rotation of the thrust rotating means. The guide bar has an arm 83 performing swing motion to project/retreat the guide bar, and the arm is driven to advance/retreat by the eccentric rotation of an eccentric cam 84.
