PURPOSE: To obtain the vertical type clothes presser which can be provided vertically and stably by reducing the movement of the centroid at the time when a movable plate is opened, with regard to the clothes presser for straightening wrinkles and creasing by placing clothes, etc., between a fixed plate and the movable plate and inserting and pressing them.
CONSTITUTION: The presser is provided with a locking device 23 for fixing the lower end of a fixed plate 11 to a base 18 and providing it vertically, and also, connecting this fixed plate 11 and the lower end of a movable plate 17 by a hinge mechanism 15 so as to be freely turnable, and holding the movable plate 17 in a state that it is pressed against the fixed plate 11, and the movable plate 17 is constituted of a hollow structure body consisting of plural cylindrical bodies 16. In such a manner, mass of the movable plate 17 becomes small, the movement of the centroid at the time when the movable plate 17 is opened becomes small, the size of the vertically providing base 18 can be miniaturized, and also, the movable plate 17 does not oscillate even at the time of executing a work for putting the shape of clothes in order, and the whole presser can be provided vertically and held stably.
