PURPOSE: To provide a vertically movable shelf in which both side plates are reinforced so that the shelf is difficult to be curved and deformed, the whole rising and falling shelf easy to shake can be surely fixed, and the whole rising and falling shelf is made thin and can be compactly housed.

CONSTITUTION: In the vertically movable shelf having housing shelves 2a, 2b provided between both side plates 1 in such a manner as to be vertically movable, vertical hollow reinforcing ribs 3 are formed on both side plates 1, the lower parts of rod bodies 4 are housed in the upper end opening parts of the hollow reinforcing ribs 3 in such a manner as to be vertically movable, and ceiling contact fixing bodies 5 pressed onto a ceiling surface 12 are provided on the upper ends of the rod bodies 4.
