PURPOSE: To surely perform timer video recording without making the standby state of the timer recording in a video timer recorder.

CONSTITUTION: The starting and the ending times of recording, a channel and a recording mode are inputted by means of a setting key for timer recording from an operation part 3, the contents are stored in a control part 4, sends a forced recording signal to a recording/reproducing part 5 just before the starting time of the timer recording, the timer recording is executed giving the most priority and a power source is turned off at the ending time of the timer recording. All the while, the operation of reproduction, recording and monitoring display in the normal mode are not ejected.
